In recent times there have been some groups calling for Texas to secede from the Union. I normally just brush it off, kind of like it will never happen. However, lately I have been thinking about just that. I wondered what would be my breaking point and I would agree with Texas secession. Then I read this: COLUMBUS, Ohio — In wide-ranging remarks here, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg defended the use of foreign law by American judges. “I frankly don’t understand all the brouhaha lately from Congress and even from some of my colleagues about referring to foreign law,” Justice Ginsburg said in her comments on Friday. When I heard it my first reaction was "you are kidding me right?" This Justice actually agrees with using international ruling in American courts? Now I am not saying just because she said it that I think Texas should succeed. However, once a case is lost or won by use of citing international case law I am out. If we start relying on international judges what does that mean for our beloved Constitution? Does that make it null and void? My guess is that would turn it into more of a "suggestion" on how to run our country. That is when I want to get the hell out of dodge, America will be a very scary place to live. ...and the media blasted Glenn Beck for using the word transnational -- it's real, and some agree with it.
