Is this the hope part to his "Hope and Change" campaign rhetoric? Yesterday Obama stated that we must pass this, pork laden, stimulus plan. If we do not? We, the United States of America, may not survive. That sounds like fear mongering if you ask me. Albeit, who am I to question "The One." It makes one curious what types of things are in this bill so we can survive. Let's go ahead and see what we must have to enable our survival. We won't survive without $50 million for the National Endowment For the Arts. Without $380 million in the Senate bill for the Women, Infants and Children's program the United States will cease to exist. How can we possibly survive without $300 million for grants to combat violence against women or $6 billion for university building projects. Of course we just have to have $1.2 billion to provide youth summer jobs, and this bill defines "Youth" to people up to the age of 24. We may never recover without $2.4 billion for neighborhood stabilization activities or $650 million for digital TV coupons. How can you expect the great USA to survive without $150 million for the Smithsonian. This one is one of the best -- how can we survive without $34 million to renovate the Department of Commerce headquarters or $500 million for the improvement projects for the national institute of health facilities. You know we have to spend $44 million for repairs to the Department of Agriculture headquarters if we expect to get out of these troubled economic trials. Those computers at the department of agriculture are too old, they are non operational lets spend $350 million for agriculture department computers. You know that Public Health Service departments building is kind of ugly, lets spend $88 million to help move the Public Health Service into a new building to enable us to survive. Oh yeah we will also need $88 million for a moving truck. You know in order to survive you have to spend $89 billion for Medicaid -- where would we be without welfare? Don't forget the $20 billion for more food stamps! We need Amtrak to survive. How would the Vice President get to work without them? So lets give $850 million for a train that hasn't turned a profit in 50 years. This one is my all time favorite! To enable us to survive these troubles we need $87 million for a polar ice breaking ship. Wait a second, are these not the same people that are crying wolf about global warming? I mean if all the ice is melting up there we sure do not need polar ice breaking ships right? Last but not least we need $160 million for paid volunteers at the Corporation for National and Community Service. We pay our volunteers? Of course this is just a condensed list of all the pork we need to survive. I am urging everyone to call their senators and tell them NO to this ridiculous plan. This is wasteful spending at it's very best. Time as taught us a very important lesson, we must listen and learn. You can not spend your way out of a recession. This is just not how it works, plain and simple. We have tried this before. We have tried this at our worst time, the Great Depression. What did the New Deal do for us? It greatly extended the time frame for the depression. While the rest of the world was out of the depression we remained do to wasteful spending and government programs. We all have the same goal in mind -- I hope. To get us out of this turmoil. Let's not extend this longer by passing bill's like the one Obama is urging. Let's be smart about this. We may very well be at our demise if the far left get's the things they want.
