In the world of racial and ethnic grievance mongers, it will never be enough. A few weeks ago Hispanic lawyers served notice to Barack Obama and his transition office informing him to pay up for delivering ethnic votes. They also demanded more Latino appointments to the federal bench. Note: Obama named Bill Richardson (a Hispanic) as his Commerce Secretary nominee. He has also placed La Raza Biggie Cecilia Munoz in a White House Office. Nevertheless, its just not enough:
One of the things I despise most about the racial issues in politics is the idea to put someone in place simply because they are of a different racial group. The idea that Barack Obama being elected is somehow historic and amazing is simply ludicrous to me. There was no law stopping an African-American from being elected. He was chosen for the job because more than half of Americans feel he is the right man for the job. A job should not be won or obtained simply because of the color of your skin, it should be because you are the proper fit for the duties needed. Which is also why I disagree with Affirmative Action, but that is a separate topic all together.
